We have it from the horse's mouth that a server in the USA is presently experiencing technical difficulties. If you are trying to connect from the USA, you must be patient. The server should be back on line in 3 to six hours.

After some research, I just found out that Facebook is experiencing technical difficulties in the United Kingdom. If you are from there, I suggest you be patient.
