Hello,

Just got a brand new computer from Dell. It came with Windows 7 (which I despise). Attempting to boot from an XP Pro disk so I can format and reinstall... It allows me to select the disk and runs through loading the components, but when it gets to loading windows it comes up with a blue screen stating that a problem has been detected... I can't get past this. Any suggestions?

Hello,

Try this 1.

Go to BIOS and change the SATA mode to ATA.

Note : But the performance decreases.

Or

Let me know the laptop model number to find the SATA drivers.

Good Luck.
