Praise God!! ok I did the ctrl-alt-delete as it tried to come up and then hit the f8 button it made a very loud beeping and then went to a screen with options to repair it...I chose restore to earlier date and bam there it was!!! Thank you so much for your help Ambucias!! Many blessing wished your way!!

Hello,
This is because no processes are running. press control alt delete and select task manager. under Applications select "new task" type in explorer and press enter. you should see your background image and the taskbar as well as your icons.

If you have access to command prompt
try running these
START -- > RUN --->
regsvr32 wshom.ocx
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 urlmon.dll
try running these
START -- > RUN --->
regsvr32 wshom.ocx
