Can't remove usb device!

whenever I click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon to stop a usb device connected to my PC. I get a message saying that Windows vista c ant stop operation because the device is still in use,to close all application even thou they are already closed. i even check out in the Task Manager, but it shows no applications running.Im getting this error message not mattter the memory sticks used.

the most straight forward solutuion is to disconnect your drive despite of the warning message.that i usually do..but another solution is to activate a little feature under Windows.."Optimized for quick removal" this will prevent the buffering of files durin file transfer between your PC and your flashdrive...this will reduce the risk that you encounter this type of error messages.
