Beeps when switched on

Hello,



I've Compaq cq40 317 TU. have purchased this an year back. from last 2 months 'm not able to switch on it on battery, always have to connect it to power supply
and when i press the start button, the screen reads "Compaq" and continues beep sound starts.

Pl help!

Hi arun,
As you have mentioned that the system is giving continues beeps on turning on, could you please tell me that if the computer still able to boot up and working fine?
