Hotmail hacked?

I get my hotmail email messages coming through to my Blackberry and I read them. I've just logged on to my hotmail account and one of the messages that I read on my Blackberry a couple of days ago was unread on my hotmail account. Why is this? Could someone have hacked in and marked it unread?
