Reseting admin password

Hello, i just baught a used macbook and my friend whome i baught it from moved to italy and i lost my phone witch had his number in it and i have no way of contacting him is there anyway i can reset the admin password without this "osx" disk? please help me out:)

1. Log-in to an Administrator's account
2. Delete the file /Library/Keychains/FileVaultMaster.keychain
3. Go under System Preferences and specify a new Master Password
Remember on step 2 go to finder-Macintosh HD or your hard Drive-Find library-Keychains and delete FileVaultMaster.keychain .
