My cd rom doesnt work

Hello,

i have a dell lap top vostro a 840 its CD ROM doesnt work well means for reading some CDs it tries to read it but it cant and make "kher kher " sound what shoul i do?

Hi,

Its a mechanic issue,get the drive be replaced as it cannot be repaired and if repaired it wont work for long time.

shayan, i wouldnt bother getting it repaired.
you need a replacement CD ROM.
there are different types of connections for laptop optical drives so what i would do is flip the laptop over and there should be a screw where the END of the cd drive is (roughtly 15CMs from the end of the laptop going into the center).

if you unscrew this and pull the CD drive it should come out.

if the CD drive is screwed in under the case i would take this off and remove this way.

if you are uncomfortable in doing this then i would go to a local computer shop.

but either way you need a NEW CD drive.

there is no more assistance anyone can give you.
