Laptop to TV through VGA cable Closed

Question

Hello, 

I have a vga to svideo cbale, when I connect this cable to laptop on the vga port immediately my laptop shuts off. I have to remove the battery and then replace it back again for it to even start.

Can anyone please let me know what the problem is !

Are you sure its switching off and not changing its display?

are the fans still going when you plug it in?

Thanks for your response.

I'm sure that it's switching off and none of my keys respond on my laptop and fans shut off too, it's a complete halt.
