If the actual problem is the display on the monitor, then it should not at all be sourcing from the RAM slots, it should be coming from your graphic card.
Please remove the graphic card and place it back. See whether it gets the problem solved. Ifit doesn't please try it on another computer to confirm whether the graphic card is not damaged and needs to be replaced.
