Ill refer it to overheating issue ,open your system clean the fan and heatsink,for instructions please refer to this Faq:

Hello Help,
I think that pcsces is right but I will ad that your overheating issue may have been lingering.
Now, if the fan does not start and there is no noise, we have a very serious circuit or motherboard problem.
If pcsces solution does not work, you just may have to get the apparatus examined by a in the flesh technician.
