Hello,
The unit has worked well for the last 2-3 years but it will not power on anymore. When u push the power button the lights come on for less then a second and then its dead again. The fan doesn't start and there are no noises. I tried disconnecting the display, reseating the ram and the harddrive but still nothing. The LED by the CAPs and Num lock don't light up at all when u try to power it up so no error message to go by. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I will give it a try but i have never had any overheating problems. The unit worked fine the last time it turned on. It then sat powered off for a full day and then when i tried to turn it on ran into these problems

Hello Help,

I think that pcsces is right but I will ad that your overheating issue may have been lingering.

Now, if the fan does not start and there is no noise, we have a very serious circuit or motherboard problem.

If pcsces solution does not work, you just may have to get the apparatus examined by a in the flesh technician.

Sorry about that

Good luck
