Hello,
Try this 1
Switch OFF\ON your router and then check once again. Also reinstall the network
drivers. If the problem still exists try to reset your router.
Or
Let me know the router brand name and model number.
Good Luck

Thanks a lot for the reply,
I tried to power off and reset the router again.
I am using a Pronet 150m Wireless Lite-N router.
You can view that on https://www.hugedomains.com/domain_profile.cfm?d=pronetnetworks&e=com
My drivers seem to be ok as it works on pronet-54m Wireless router.
The connection in the task bar keeps fluctuating.
It says the network cabe has been disconnected and after few secs it says LAN connected.
Please help me on this!

1) Go to command prompt and enter this command
ping -t 127.0.0.1 ----> Press Enter
You should get a reply messages.
2) Check the cable first. Try to connect to the router through different port.
Good Luck

ping -t 127.0.0.1
C:\Documents and Settings\Shital>ping -t 127.0.0.1
Pinging 127.0.0.1 with 32 bytes of data:

Firewall has been disabled,
Bluetooth was disabled
Upnp service disabled
system has been restarted several times.
All indicators on the router glow successfully and the wifi signal is detected.
The cable is working fine as another router of 54mbps can be connected and configured.
How do I connect to the router via different port if i cannot ping the ip address 192.168.1.1?
Could some 1 guide me on the questions below:
1. Is it that the n-lite iseries wireless router (150mbps) require a different cable than the 54mbps router ?
2. Why does the ping response keep fluctuating ? The LAN says its connected and disconnects in few seconds.
3. The router has an indicator which flashes after the router checks the config. If there is a hardware fault the indicator does not blink or lights up either.
Please let me know what is the issue here?

Try this 1
At the backend of your router you can find the four ports. Just connect the cable to one of the four
ports and try to access the router. If you failed to get the dhcp ip then temporary assign your
IP address as 192.168.1.15 subnet mask 255.255.255.0 default gateway 192.168.1.1
Now try to login into your router or try to ping to your router.
1) No. 2) It depends on various reason for such problems. Like the cable problem or the
LAN pins having the problem or its the router.
3) Most of them had this problem and were able to resolve it by rebooting the router or installing the manufacture's drivers. Try to connecting your router to other PC and check if you able to connect to the router.
Good Luck
