Laptop will turn on but the screen is black

Hello,

my laptop will turn on but the screen is black , i can move the mose but thats all that shows up, anybody now how to fix it please?

Hi

Here are two options:

1. Boot pressing F12 and choose to boot to last good configurations

2. Remove the battery ,pressing power button holding it for 1 minute and connect back with battery and power adapter.

Hi Ambucias, I followed the two options stated above and now I am seeing OS not found on my laptop even though before it will go through the boot up sequece and display black screen any idea? I have Gateway windows vista

Hello Perp,

Your issue is totally different.

Once on the black screen, what happens if you press the Windows key? If nothing, you must insert your Vista disk and boot. Choose the repair option.

Let me know if you get the command prompt (win key).
