Hello,
Ok so my HP Pavilion laptop is fine...but theres no desktop. Its completely black. The mouse works (not blinking...moving) and the startup and login page work. Im on the internet because I went to the task uploader at the login page and I clicked a support link that led me to the internet. What is it? Is it a locked screen? Please help me because I have a research paper due on Monday and I need Appleworks for it...Thank you

Hello,
Try this 1
Hold the Ctrl & Shift keys and press the "Esc" key. "Task Manager" will be opened
Click on "File" --> New Task --> Type explorer.exe and press Enter.
Later download the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from the below link
https://ccm.net/downloads/security-and-maintenance/4621-malwarebytes-anti-malware/
Update it --> Perform "Full Scan"
Note : Default selected option is "Quick Scan".
Good Luck.
