Hello,
I have a three year old HP Pavillion dv6000 which has been having sound issues off and on for the last year. At first the sound would just stop suddenly and would register as working but now it is always "no audio output device installed". I've tried all the solutions... I've gone to the device manager and looked for the sound option but it does not appear at all nor does it come up under "other options". I have gone to the HP website and tried installing the audio drivers but a notice comes up saying "Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the media device for this driver".

HELP, PLEASE!!! I would really like my sound back!

Hello,

Try this 1

1) Click on the below link and download it

http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/4/3/8434D53F-DE53-4BFB-AFF1-8520E26A87D3/MicrosoftFixit50131.msi

Double-click on it and follow the instructions.

2) If the problem still exists then download the "Chipset" and "Audio" drivers

from the manufacture's website. Install the "Chipset" drivers first and then

"Audio" drivers.

If the problem still exists then update your BIOS.

Good Luck
