Dell desktop wont load past splash screen!

Hello,
Ok, so I was on my Dell, which runs on windows xp, and it said that it needed to restart itself to fix a problem. So I let it, and when I tried to reboot, it got to the splash, loaded past it, then just a black screen, same thing happens if i try to boot it up safely. I see many people got their problems fixed for their laptops, but the fixes there won't help me any. Please help me anyone?! Thank you inn advance

Hello :)

i had the exact the same problem with my pc which is a dell, it happens a lot, this is most probably caused by a virus, which slowly took over your computer..
