Checksum error is driving me crazy help pleas

Hello
I have hp laptop with vista 7 I guess my problem is when I turn on my laptop a black screen a message come up that says

CHECKSUM ERROR

PRESS <F1> TO LOAD CMOS DEFAULT VALUE

PRESS <F10> TO BIOS SETUP OPTIONS

I try to press F1 and f10 and nothing happens screen stays black and the error stays there I cant do anything lets say if I try to install XP Pro software would this help
I 've had some laptops and the stupid blue comes up and all I do is installed my XP pro software and it works fine

these time I want some help is it the battery or something else

please guys need some help here

Hello,

Try this 1

Unplug the power cord --> Remove the battery from the laptop --> Then

remove CMOS battery from the laptop for 10mins and place it back properly -->

Plug the power cord and turn ON your laptop.

(1) Go to BIOS --> Load default settings --> Set the date and time --> Save the

settings and exit from the BIOS.

If the problem still exists then change the CMOS battery and follow the

instructions given in (1)
