xp was not installed on my c: drive. i am saying about formatting through command prompt

Why dont you try after booting through windows or windows cd?

i am unable to install xp on c: drive.It is displaying a message check power cables properly attached.check for any new hardware properly installaed or not.set is unable to install the operating system
