Ok, try this and let me know:
1. Download the .zip file from the hyperlink below:
Exefix_Vista
2. Open the downloaded .zip file, then extract (drag and drop) the .reg file to the desktop.
3. Right click on the extracted .reg file and click on Merge.
4. If prompted, click on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK.
5. When done, you can delete the downloaded .zip and .reg files on the desktop if you like.
6. Log off and log on, or restart the computer to apply.
Good Luck!

Ok let's follow the steps of my friend Ambucias:
1. Download, unzip and run Godzilla Fix:
https://community.broadcom.com/home
2. Download, install, update Malwarebyte and run a FULL (I insist FULL scan)
https://ccm.net/downloads/security-and-maintenance/4621-malwarebytes-anti-malware/
You may be required to reboot during the process.
3. After the scan delete the items found.
IMPORTANT FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE A VIRUS
Right click your program or link and choose "Run as". In the dialog, uncheck "Protect...". Say ok and now everything will work.

It's not even letting me open the first link.
What happened is that microsoft said I had 27 virusis. It wouldn't let me open IE at all so I did a system restore. I tried opening microsoft word and it said file cant be found. So I tried disk cleanup and the "open with" box came up and I tried other things and the open with box kept coming up for everything. I want to undo the restore but it wont let me open that either the "open with" box keeps coming up.

Great, I am happy o hear that the issue is fixed.
Yes I used AVG in the past and it is a good antivirus, you can also try Avira AntiVir Personal which has a free version. Both are downloadable from the link below:
https://ccm.net/downloads/security-and-maintenance/4559-avira-free-antivirus/
https://ccm.net/downloads/security-and-maintenance/6953-avg-antivirus-free-for-pc/
However run antimalware program occasionally. The two programs I mentioned above (malwarebytes-anti-malware and KillGodzilla) will do the trick. Their link:
