                    You will need the Windows DVD or a repair CD to boot from.  You can have another Vista user burn you the boot/repair CD and then change the boot order to boot from the CD.  You can then try to do a Windows repair.  Google "Vista repair" for more info.
The other alternative is a possible if you have a hidden Windows partition on the hard drive. Most laptops are shipped with this partition. Your were supposed to burn the backup CDs when you got the laptop. But, you (like me) probably never read the instructions.
If you do a system restore from this partition ALL your current data will be erased. Again Google your laptop model + "system restore" for specific instructions.
