Gateway laptop screen wont turn on Closed

Question

I have a gateway laptop ms2273 and it was working fine, then i shut it off and now when i went to turn it on the screen stays black,. it sounds like it boots but the screen just stays black i tired hooking it up to a monitor using a vga cable and it says no signal so im really confused because my laptop says its on but nothing works. please help thanks

Hello, 

Try this 1 

Remove the USB cable. 

Unplug the power cord --> Remove the battery --> Hold the power button for 60 

seconds --> Connect the power supply then try to switch ON the laptop and later 

put the battery back into the laptop.
