Win7 prevents installation of WinXP on laptop

Hello,

I just recently purchased a Compaq laptop and I am having problems with installing Windows XP. Windows 7 is eating up my computer memory, and I want to get rid of it. Please help!

Hi,

Here are steps on how you can install xp on pre installed win 7.
First.
On the Setup of your bios.
Choose the ATA instead of AHCI on the SATA configuration..
then now apply the changes. then insert your cd on the cd rom. make sure you have chosen the cd as your first boot device.

Windows XP does not have hardware drivers for components on your laptops motherboard. HP does not provide XP drivers. Your best bet is to buy more memory if that is the problem.
