hello, well this morning I cleaned my pc checked the fans ect. But when I plugged everything, when I switched up my pc after POST I got a message "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press enter" so I inserted the OS cd (Win.2000) but when I tried to format my Pc a window with the partitions came up and said that there were no partitions and an unknown disk.. Thanks in advance

Hello,

Try this 1

First check all the connections between your motherboard and the hard disk.

Go to BIOS --> Load default settings and make sure your hard disk is detected

--> Set the first boot device as "Hard disk" --> Save the settings and exit from

the BIOS.

Good Luck

Try this 1
Change your hard disk power and data cable and then check in the BIOS if your hard disk is detected or not.

Hello,
Verify once again in the POST or in BIOS if you can see your HDD name. If you failed then
it seems like your hard disk not getting detected.
Good Luck

Hello,
Try this 1
If you notice that your CPU fan is running but there is no display in the screen, then remove the RAM from the slot, clean it and place it back properly or try another slot.
Also check your VGA connection. If you are using graphic card then remove it and place it back properly.
Good Luck
