Hello,

I recently bought a second monitor for my desktop PC.
I have one Philips 170S 17" monitor and one LG W2234 22" monitor.

My video card is Ge Force 8400 GS and it has one VGA port and one DVI port.

Both monitors' cables are VGA so I bought an adapter (VGA to DVI) and plugged one monitor on it.

If I boot the system up, having only the one with the DVI connected, everything works fine, then I connect the second one, and I can use them both fine with no problem.

The thing is that when I have them both connected and I boot the system up, one of them does not work, so now I have to unplug the VGA monitor each time before I boot my PC and then plug it back in when windows loads.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

installed nvidia video drivers ?

is your monitor on RGB or DVI,
and is plasma on DVI

Nvidia cards default to the DVI output for boot up,
I eventually put my Plasma on RGB, because of it.
need to get a double DVI card.

Anyway, what would happen is my monitor on RGB and PLASMA on DVI,
my monitor would stay blank until windows had booted all the way.

Try setting your system to permanently cloned, thenset the RGB screen as the primary onitor. you will have to wear that it doesn't show up until windowsw loads video drvers or something like that.
