Unable to locate saved file on desktop

I am using window 7 home premier, and Internet explorer 9. When I saved files from internet to desktope these files I can not locate on desktop, when I try to save it again the message displays "destination file is already exist do you want to replace it" and the same file is visible in internet saving window. Please give me suitable suggestion so I cane save files on desktope and I can locate and open the saved files
