HDMI to connect Laptop to HDTV - no audio

Hello,

I have a lenovo laptop that Im trying to plug into my sony bravia LCDTv. I recently moved to the middle east but before I was able to connect my laptop to my tv without any difficulty, the audio was always perfect. Im having a lot of issues now though.. the picture is fine but I am not able to hear anything unless I turn the laptops speakers on which is such a hassle only because you can't control the volume unless you get up and do it. That was why I bought an LCDTV with hdmi here but I can't seem to figure anything out. I've tried everything on the boards that was suggested!
When i open up the NVIDIA HD Control panel the levels tab doesn't show up..
Im assuming the issue would probably have to do with the PAL/NTSC but if that was the case then there would be no video showing up either?
Please please help!!
