No sound on LCD TV with HDMI on Win XP HP

Hello,
I am using my HP laptop with Windows XP and samsung Series 7 LCD Tv. When I connect HDMI cable, I get video instantly but no Audio. But fiddling with the cable, and turning off/on the Tv and laptop several times gives me audio too. But next time again does not work.
My laptop does not show HDMI option in Sounds in Control panel. Please help

Ok if your OS is xp

and if there is no hdmi option in control panel then try to

reinstall your video and audio drivers from your manufacturer site

I am also facing the same problem I have Dell Vostro 3500 with windows XP. when I connect my laptop to the LCD I get a perfect display but no sound. can anyone help me with this.
