There are only two possibilities
OS corruption or hard drive is failing.
what did you try till now?
Can you boot into safemode?
Did you try running chkdsk
Let us know

Your harddisk is failing it seems, try this
Insert your OS cd
You should be asked to press a key on bootup,if you do not get this option
press f2 or del key on bootup which wil lead you to BIOS
make sure your first boot device is changed to cd/dvd drive, then restart
press a key on bootup
that should lead you setup menu
I guess that your OS is xp
Now press R key on the setup menu that should lead to recovery console
enter your administrator password
now run these commands
chkdsk /r
fixboot
after running it restart and check
