Blank screen and cursor showing in laptop

Hello,

i am having a problem with my laptop from yesterday night .it showing blank screen and cursor with yahoo messenger and google talk.but it not showing windows startup .my laptop is dell insprion N5010 and my os is windows 7 .please any one help me

I suggest you press F11 key immediately after you start the laptop. You should get an option to run the diagnostic software. I suspect your hard disk has failed.

the problem is not resolved. i am having a doubt that my system is running background its produsing heat too much . please help me
