Can u plz help me with PS3

what can i do if my ps3 is on but does not show any picture on the hdmi or any sound, i hav tried holding the power button for 5 seconds but it didnt work can u please help i want to play.

have you tried useing the av cables with hdmi cable to set to hdmi ?
