In a hp Laptop, when the letter q is typed it is displayed as 1q so is the w displayed as 2w, the letter e displays as 3e and so on all the upper letters, can you tell me how to fix this issue?

You might need to replace the keyboard. I suggest you test the laptop with a external USB keyboard to see if works. Then you might be able to buy a replacement keyboard on Ebay.
