Problems sending emails through outlook.

Hello,
I am having problems sending email not with my yahoo account but through outlook or when im on another website. Whenever i try sending an email the response that I recieve is as follows:
The host 'SMTP' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly.
Subject 'Receptionist Position', Account: 'Pop3', Server: 'SMTP', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

If you do not have a paid Yahoo account (i think it was Yahoo Plus), you cannot use POP (Outlook) with your Y! account.
Surprisingly, Yahoo Mail is still living in the Stone age...
