Hello,
I bought a wd blue scropio 500gb hard drive yetsurday I put it in my emachines laptop and I got a error code "failed fix disc 0" I'm technotarded so I have no what's going on I also have no os at this time I tired installing Ubuntu but it couldn't find my hard drive if u have any info I would love to hear it thanks

It can be a poor connection to the hard drive or a failed motherboard. Did the old hard drive fail?
Yes it emachines told me it has something to do with the south bridge whatever that might be I have no clue

The "southbridge" is a chip on the motherboard. If it has failed then you need a new motherboard. It's probably cheaper to buy a new laptop.
