Hi there!

I have run into some problems when transferring information from one Excel file to another. I have a big Excel file with a lot of information which I want to split into two seperate files, however, I want to keep working in the "big" excel sheet and hopefully the two other sheets will get automatically updated...

I have tried the "copy sheet" function, but this doesn't enable me to copy certain rows and columns of the "big" Excel sheet.

I hope it makes sense to you Excel wizards :-)

Looking forward to getting my hair back....

your requiremnts are not clear . you are uising "file" and "sheet".

how to separate the main sheet

suggest keep both the main data and split data in the same workbook but in different sheets (three sheets) so manipulation is easy

try this
in the main sheet highlight the first part to be copied
edit copy
go to the second sheet and highlight A1
edit-pastespecial-pastelinks

similarly from main sheet to third sheet .
