Gateway unable to boot

Hello,
I have a Gateway All in One Desktop. It runs on windows 7 and has intel I3. The processor is 3.20GHz. When I turn it on the Gateway screen displays but when it goes to boot up it stops on a blank screen with a cursor. I tries to system restore with disks and without to no avail. Is there anyone that could help? Thanks so much!

What is your operating system ?

Do you have access to the task manager ?

Did it just accur out of the blue ? What did you do before it started ?

My daughter was on the internet(Facebook) then I went on vacation for two weeks came back and now it won't work. I don't know much about computers but the only screen I can get into is the (delete) for setting and f12 menu.
