Hello,

My laptop has been suffering a lot of issues. It started back on Patch Tuesday on Tuesday, April 10th 2012. During the BIOS update, the laptop shutdown. I wondered about the problem, and when I tried to turn it back on, nothing. I came here, and found one of the first answers. I did the 60 second power switch fix, and it worked...for that night. I tried it everyday, and I had to do it everyday until two days ago. Now it won't power on no matter what I do. I've tried everything. I held it upside down for 30 seconds, held it down for 2 minutes, even 7 once. I also took it to the Geek Squad at Best Buy and they said that I needed a motherboard fix which was out of my pocket. And last night, my wife kept the power plugged in, so I'm not sure if there is more residual charge and I would have to hold it down for longer now.
Specs: Toshiba Satellite L655D-S5093
Windows 7
BIOS version 2.10

Thanks

"Is the power lights coming on, have you tried turning on with AC power only?" It was by myself earlier
Yes, my good man. But after Sunday, the fan stopped running. I have tried with AC only, and a lot.
Thank you
if the fan has stopped, it may be a dead CPU
Well, it has been working a few days ago. It worked on Wednesday, before I went to work. I just plugged in the AC, the battery was already in, and it just turned on. So I just left it on the entire day because I didn't want it to turn off on me again. I don't get why it works at random times.
restart machine, and take note of the hdd indicator light if after a short time at most 3 minutes the hdd activity light starts flashing let me know, if it does not.
Would you restart machine and take note of the hdd activity light, if after a short time (no longer than 3 minutes) the activity light starts to flash or not let me know either way.
It flashes for less than a second when I press the power button. After 40 seconds, it stays on for a second. After that, nothing for the remainder of the time.
