Files are locked by Microsoft Windows Vista

Hello,

There was virus in Windows Vista. I installed Microsof Windows Vista on another partition. and after installing I tried to open the files but this new winows locked all the files in that folder and subfolders.

I recoverd old windows but files are still locked and cant open.

Please help.

Hi, actually there is no message. When I open any folder in one of my partion, their names have been changed.

for example if actual name is

file.txt

new installed window has changed the name as

locked-file.txt.xkh


"locked-" string has been attached in the start and ".***" string at the end.

* can be any letter. if i delete both strings from start and end, the file
does not open or open in non readable form like strange characters.

please help

Try this 1
Check you are able to copy one or two files in an another drive and able to open it without any issue. If the problem still exists then upload any sample file to www.speedyshare.com and paste the download url here if you have no problem in sharing any one file.

I have tried copy paste but it is not opening.

I have uploaded one file. please note details below:


Actual name of the file is: Eid Card.txt


but windows vista has made it: locked-Eid-Card.txt.dnfq

Hello Dear,

I was very happy when I saw the same problem and its solution. But Please note
its not working as it wants the same file in original form which is corrupted.
I dont have any file in original form. all are corrupted.


1- if i have the original file why should i repair the encrypted one.

2- if i have one file, what about 100s other files for which i dont have the original file.

and this software is saying:

"The utility can decrypt files using a single pair - one encrypted file and one decrypted."

Dear friend, I have tried different ways to solve the problem through this utility but
i could not resolve.
