You need to change to use the sound processor on the video card if you want to have sound through the HDMI port. I suggest you check the sound options in the Control Panel.

What do you mean change sound processor? I've gone to playback devices and what shows is the TV but doesn't say, hdmi, but "Intel Display Audio" 2 days ago it worked just fine, that's why I can't understand why it isn't working. I've not done anything different.

Well You didn't tell us the whole story. The "Intel Display Audio" is the audio processor on the video card so that is not the problem. This is the most common problem people have with connecting a laptop to a TV.
You might have a HDMI cable problem or a problem with the TV settings.

those cables can be fickle to be so expensive, I guess. I'll mess around with it some more. Perhaps I'll switch the cable with the one i have hooked to blu-ray/tv and see what happens.
