thanks for the reply, what i done is started it again and went int boot select and (start windows normally) was fine after that, wonder why it done it? thinking maybe the hard drive is on its way out, or it is 70-80% full do you think that could be a factor?

It could be a loose connection or a power supply problem.
A hard drive with 20-30% free space would not have this problem.
This message is issued by the BIOS. So, you could have a problem with a weak CMOS battery that powers the BIOS. If the computer is 5 or 6 years old then you could have a CMOS battery problem.
