White screen on my ipod

I have a completly white screen on my ipod. It will charge and everything but I cant get the white screen to go away. It will go completly dead and then when i go to charge it back up it goes back normal. Then a couple days later it will go back white. what can I do to fix it? I have tried everything! Please help me!
