My laptop freezes

Hello,
while using my laptop. it freezes,den goes off.hp window vista
this happens for 5-15 mins on startup.
one morning, the network adapter and usb port in my friends laptop stopped working,the system is a dell xps.thanks

You're question is confusing. Did you install any software or upgraded hardware recently??
