Sony Viao sound won't work, for 3 years?

Hello,
I had my laptop for 6 years, that is when it started to make weird sounds lately. It was a high pitched sound and really annoying. I pretty much didn't use it much. After a while I decided to use the laptop again to do stuff. But when I played movies, games, or anything, no sound comes out. I tried to put my headphones in, and still no sound. I checked into my sound option, and it seems fine, as the green bar goes up and down when there is a sound. Problem is I have NO idea what happened. No sound from either my laptop, speakers, or headphones.
