My laptop is working but the screen is not?

Hey,
So I have a Pavilion dv4 and I was not smart one night and closed my laptop when I had maplestory running because I thought I was fine. The next day when I turn it on, the screen was black! I tried connecting to a desktop but it was still black. I also tried the taking out the battery, shutting down, and turning it back on that WORKED well for a lot of people! But still, no luck. Any other tips before I go and buy a new one?

How do you know it's working? Did you try an external monitor?

my suggestion is, maybe you have to bring your laptop to computer diagnostic and repairing center.
