Hello,
i turn on the dell inspiron 1440 after the initial booting screen,it goes black with the words time of day clock stopped

Hello,

Try this 1

Seems like your CMOS battery is dead and need to be replaced.

Replace the CMOS battery --> Switch ON your laptop --> Go to CMOS settings

--> Load the default settings --> Set the Date & Time --> Set the first boot device

as "Hard disk" --> Save the settings and exit from it.
