Hello,
Can anyone please help me out with my Dell Inspiron 6000. The HDD went down. I replaced it with another / second-hand. The old HDD had win xp sp2. The one I am using now is from a compaq but does have the same os on it. It works fine in an old compaq I have at home. When you turn the Dell on it just goes straight to the screen shot where you can either start in safe mode, networking, last good config, start normally.
Nothing else works! It does not matter what buttons I press/hold down ect..
I want to reset it but can not get past the stage where I have described above.
I have downloaded a few recovery discs from this site and tried these but even them will not allow me to sort it. Please help!!!

You can not transfer Windows from one PC to another just by transferring the hard disk. When Windows is installed it modifies itself to match the motherboard. I suggest you find a OEM version of the Windows CD and reinstall using that.
Good Luck
