hi guys,

I have come across an interesting issue. I redid some tables in an excel file and when done with it I see that the size of the file is at least 15x more than it should be. I dont see any reason for that. So my question is, what can be done in such a case to trace back to why it could have ballooned up in size. It must have happened to others as well I suppose.

Regards

Hi DG83,

In my case this happened when I accidentally applied formatting to the entire sheet instead of some fixed cells such as a table. For example, there is a possibility you might have applied the table's formatting such as background color, border style, fonts, etc. for the entire sheet. Try removing the formatting from the parts of the sheet where it is not needed and check if the size gets to normal.

Do reply with results.

I was able to download an excel add in that cleared the formatting which resolved the issue. I think it was called clearall.
