Windows 8 connection problem

Hello, me an the wife just bought a new dell inspiron one 2020 an we have high speed internet from Comcast we have a tablet an a laptop connected threw wifi as a private network since you have to enter a password to connect to our router but for some reason on our dell it says we our connected but have limited connectivity no internet I have noticed it is coming up as a public network on the dell unlike the laptop an tablet but when we hook up the Ethernet cord that comes up as a private network an then we have internet how can I resolve the wifi issue how do I get it to recognize the network as private an not public PLEASE HELP.
