Hi,
I have a Toshiba Satellite C660-119. I dropped it on the floor yesterday and every program I tried to open since would just crash. I've finally managed to get all my important stuff off and am now in the process of doing a reset back to factory settings.
I've got as far as 'finishing the installation' but now there is an issue. I have the loading bar across the screen but it has been stuck on installing 'Intel Chipset SW Installation Utility' which is 1 of 39 for over an hour. I know I am not supposed to turn it off but I can't see any other solution to the issue.
Does anybody have any ideas?

Well first off a factory restore is not a fix for a dropped laptop. If the laptop was running when it was dropped then the hard disk was probably damaged. Since the R/W head probably hit the disks. It probably needs a new hard disk and a new copy of Windows installed. If this was an old laptop it's probably cheaper to replace it than apply a temporary fix. The screen and motherboard may have also been damaged and might fail soon.
Good Luck
