Wifi button??

My Internet connection is coming through, but my laptop is saying my wifi isn't switched on, on my laptop. I see this is right because there should be 2 green lights on, n 3 when writing in capitals, but only 1 is showing. I'm pressing on F2 which shows the wifi symbol but nothing's happening. Should I be doing something else? My cats always walking around the key board so I think he's switched it off, please advise, thanks x
