When turning on a HP 2000 Notebook it powers on, shows the HP symbol and then goes black. The power button is lit, the F12 is lit, we have tried taking the battery out and holding the power button. Any ideas what else to try?

Hello,
Try this 1
Go to BIOS --> Load default settings --> Save the settings and exit from it.
Now once again go to BIOS --> Make sure that your hard drive is detected -->
Set the first boot device as "Hard Drive" --> Save the settings and exit from it.
If the problem still exists then check your hard drive connections.
Also perform Hard Drive Self Test from the BIOS.
